Why Boudoir Photography?
Finding the right words for why we shoot Boudoir Photography is now a little simpler than in the beginning. It’s more than just about a beautiful finish but for the confidence boost, empowerment, and body acceptance for the women in the photos. It’s also about seeing the transformation not only physically but also mentally and emotionally between arriving at our studio and leaving after the shoot. This a feeling that every woman deserves.
We started shooting boudoir photography because we wanted every woman to see what we see when we look through the camera lens. Women tell us they no longer see themselves as beautiful or sexy because of some weight gain or stretchmarks. We love giving them a sneak peek during the shoot, so they see that they are in fact beautiful and sexy. Seeing their reaction is priceless and confirmed that we have found our niche.
It is our job to be “mirror mirror on the wall” but not the one that sees the imperfections yet the one that sees all the beauty from the inside shining through to the outside.
The Transformation
The transformation that takes place is the best part of the whole experience. After arrival at the studio the women are oftentimes visibly nervous and not sure what to expect. After they leave the hair and makeup chair there is an instantaneous confidence boost. They start to shed the layers of nervousness.
After the first few clicks of the camera another layer or two has been shed. Once they fall into the beat of the music and are shown a sneak peek on the back of the camera all of the nervousness has disappeared, and the fun and sexy side comes out.
By the end of the session and we are scheduling their viewing appointment we have laughed, and shared stories and they leave with their head held high and confidence in their walk.
As they are viewing their photos, they begin to see themselves the way they’ve never seen themselves before. They see themselves in the same light that their significant other and loved ones see them. If they haven’t already, they can’t wait to tell their friends and co-workers how they experience and photos turned out.
A Little Piece of Our Story
We have been in photography for over 20 years from weddings, to babies, to families but we wanted to do something that had more of an impact. After the pandemic hit in 2020 and everyone was forced to stay indoors people were eating more. We noticed social media stories from women about how they had gained weight and no longer feel sexy, home-schooling their children has caused them to not have time to pamper themselves, or they no longer get dressed or do their makeup for work because are no longer going into the office. This was the time that we came up with the idea to show women that they can take off all of their daily hats. They can embrace their curves, step outside of their comfort zone, spice up their relationship, do something for their self-confidence, and be pampered with hair, makeup, and an unforgettable experience that is boudoir. We started with one of our maternity clients. She told us she felt beautiful, confident and wanted to do another session after she had her baby. This was exactly the feeling we wanted to accomplish with all women.

Boudoir Photography for us is being able to show women from all walks of life, pregnant or not, that they are and can be the gorgeous beings that they are. We are proud to show women that what they’ve been through is not who they but yet their testimony of how far they’ve come and how strong they are. Now they have the photographs to prove it.
